The Town of Banff is a bustling and thriving community with a wide variety of activities and amenities. It is possible to spend an entire holiday just in the Banff area and experience all that the Canadian Rockies have to offer.


Banff Activities Any Season

There are many world-class spas that can be enjoyed anytime of the year, such as the Pleiades Massage and Spa at the Banff Hot Springs. The Banff Hot Springs themselves are a premier attraction featuring natural thermal baths housed in a modern facility.

The King Edward hotel is located on Banff Avenue, which is the town's main street, walking distance to many international clothing and souvenir shops, as well as museums and galleries. A huge array of restaurants, pubs and lounges are also downtown. Visitors can spend hours wandering the streets, nipping into shops, and grabbing a bite.

Banff Winter Activities

Banff has some of the best skiing in Canada due to the wide variety of ski areas that are accessible and due to it's dry climate which produces some of the best powder snow in the world. Shuttles are available to the following ski hills: Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, NakiskaMount Norquay.

To finish a fantastic day of skiing soak in the Upper Hot Springs.

And if you are not that adventurous take a trip on the gondola up Sulphur Mountain.

 

 

Banff Summer Activities

In the summer, visitors to Banff National Park can make the most of the beautiful weather by experiencing some of its natural attractions. The visitor centre in town can advise guests of popular hiking trails and natural attractions. There are many guided tours available to popular attractions such as Johnson's Canyon, Sulphur Mountain and even the Athabasca Glacier.

Banff National Park golf courses are renowned worldwide, particularly the Banff Springs. Pre-booking of tee times are essential. Other nearby golf courses include Kananaskis Country Golf Course, Canmore Golf Course, SilverTip Golf Course and Stewart Creek Golf Course.

The Banff area is also well known for a vast array of outdoor activities that explore the Canadian Rockies, from rafting, horseback riding, fishing, biking all the way to canoeing. Or get a new perspective on the Banff National Park with a heli-tour or a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain.
